Flagship Global Health, Inc. (OTC BB: FGHH) and China HealthCare Holdings Limited (CHC Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, #0673), put out a press release stating they have entered into a strategic alliance to jointly utilize their resources and expertise to provide healthcare services and products to China’s leading insurance companies, including China Ping An and China Life.
This article almost doesn’t warrant attention, but there is news of interest with a bit of digging. And the interest isn’t about Flagship Global Health or anything they do.
The other party to this simple tie up, China HealthCare Holdings, is the real story. It has a diverse set of services including the usual listing of travel health, medical assistance for multinationals, and physician and hospital networks.
But what’s of interest here is the company’s large, proprietary POS (point of sale) network with a growing focus on health transactions. The company is building a bridge between consumer transactions in general, including mobile phone payments, and healthcare transactions.
The ability to capture POS data in healthcare transactions is the real news.
I’m immediately drawn to think of IMS Health and what they’ve been able to do with their vast pharmacy databank(s) pulled from the POS network…….HK
