Private clinics in Venezuela have agreed to government requests to temporarily freeze their fees to give officials time to find ways of tackling soaring healthcare costs.
Venezuela is facing annual inflation of some 25% – the region’s highest rate.

Oh, we do hope Venezuelan officials let the rest of the world know when they “…find ways of tackling soaring healthcare costs.”
All kidding aside, there are well documented long term trends of healthcare following the CPI by 2 points, worldwide, for a very long time now.
And this is a great example of what the private healthcare sector will likely face over the years to come in various countries. The sector is an easy populist target and needs to recognize this fact from a strategic planning perspective.
