This is not good news.
Angola’s GDP per population is a healthy, and growing $8,900. Its service sector accounts for nearly 25% of its economy. 40% of its population live below the poverty line.
Sending patients abroad is not good news. Any country today that uses resource to send patients abroad is essentially hardening its rich poor divide.
What’s even more distressing is that this is Angola, the country that benefited for decades from Cuba’s international medical efforts.
Is this just another indication of the short sighted, donor dependent planning of government officials?………….HK
